The feeling

A place that asks nothing of you.

No screens humming in the corner. No schedule but the light. Getra was built for the kind of rest that only arrives when you stop reaching for it — a wood stove that ticks as it warms, a lake that mirrors the sky, and mornings long enough to waste.

Everything here was made by hand, and it shows in the quiet.

SLOW LIVING

The Cabin

Nestled on the shores of a glacial lake, Getra is a modern retreat designed for stillness. Every detail — from the hand-finished timber walls to the panoramic windows — was crafted to dissolve the line between shelter and landscape.

— SOFIA & MARCUS, BERLIN

“Waking up to the panoramic views of the misty lake with a hot cup of coffee was therapeutic. Absolute perfection.”

— EMMA & JACOB, COPENHAGEN

“The wood-fired hot tub under the northern lights is something we will never forget. Getra is a masterpiece of design.”

Aurora over the northern forest

The sky moves. You don't have to.

Autumn dates are open now. Reserve the cabin before the aurora season fills.

The cabin and its dock at golden hour
The Cabin

Built by hand,
warmed by fire.

Reclaimed pine, a stove hauled across the winter ice, and two summers of long evenings. Every surface here was made to be lived in slowly.

The space

Two rooms, a hearth, and the whole lake for a backyard.

The cabin opens to a single warm room — kitchen, hearth and long table under a pitched timber ceiling. Sliding doors give onto a deck that reaches out over the water. Two bedrooms tuck into the quiet end, each framing a different slice of forest.

Down by the shore, a wood-fired sauna waits for the evenings.

Experiences

Days shaped
by the land.

Nothing is scheduled and everything is possible. These are the rhythms guests return for — paddle at dawn, sauna at dusk, and a sky that performs when it pleases.

The Lakeside Sauna Ritual

The Lakeside Sauna Ritual

Wood-fired heat, a plunge into the cold lake, and a slow return to warmth under the pines. A nightly rhythm the cabin was built around.

Dawn Paddle Across the Fjord

Slip a cedar canoe into glassy water before the world wakes. Mist lifts off the surface as loons call across the northern shore.

In Praise of the Slow Morning

There is a particular quiet at 62°N — the kind that arrives with coffee, wool socks and a lake that hasn't yet caught the light.
